What stays on my device?
Your anime collection, name, notes, uploaded covers, and theme save in browser local storage under my9animes-v1. English and Japanese pages share the same collection. No account is needed. Clearing browser data removes this local collection.
What happens when I search?
Submitted titles are sent to this site and queried through TMDB. Shared server caches store anime metadata and online cover URLs, not uploaded cover files. Queries are normalized and hashed for cache keys.
The application uses short-lived request counters and a daily rotating hashed visitor identifier for abuse protection. Its database does not retain raw IP addresses. Hosting and upstream providers may process request information under their own policies. Online cover previews contact TMDB’s image CDN; image exports use this site’s cover proxy.
What do share links contain?
Share links encode your selected anime, online cover URLs, name, collection title, notes, and theme in the URL fragment. Anyone with the link can read that information. Uploaded images are excluded; JSON backups can include them. Review your collection before sharing.
Does this site use analytics or advertising?
Production builds can load Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity when configured. Production advertising uses Adsterra. These providers may use cookies, local storage, and request information under their policies. Local and preview builds do not load these scripts.
